Shu Qian Meets with Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Industry

On the afternoon of August 27, Shu Qian, General Manager of China Nanshan, met with Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Industry, and his delegation at the company's headquarters building in Chiwan, Shenzhen. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on enhancing the planning of the Chiwan area and synergizing marine technology industries. Zheng Hehui, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Industry, along with Zhao Jianchao, Deputy General Manager of China Nanshan, and Hu Runjie, Chief Financial Officer of China Nanshan, attended the meeting.

Shu Qian extended a warm welcome to Wu Sichuan and his delegation, providing a detailed overview of China Nanshan's resource endowments and development journey in the Chiwan area. He noted that China Nanshan is currently leveraging the formulation of its 15th Five-Year Plan as an opportunity to harness the synergistic momentum of China Merchants Group. This involves strengthening connections with key high-quality marine industry resources to comprehensively advance the value enhancement of the Chiwan area. As the successor to China Merchants Group's century-old maritime heritage, China Merchants Industry possesses deep industry expertise and robust technological capabilities in offshore engineering equipment manufacturing and shipbuilding. This creates broad prospects for collaboration between the two parties. He expressed hope to further deepen business synergy, jointly explore cooperative development opportunities, and work together to establish high-end marine technology industrial platforms and innovation resources in Chiwan, thereby building a future-oriented marine science and technology innovation hub.

 

Wu Sichuan outlined the business development, industrial projects, and strategic plans of China Merchants Industry. He emphasized that China Nanshan has deep roots in the marine industry with substantial accumulated expertise, establishing a solid foundation for collaboration between the two parties. He expressed anticipation for further deepening synergies with China Nanshan to jointly seize the historic opportunity presented by Shenzhen's development as a “Global Ocean Center City.” This collaboration aims to fully leverage the locational advantages of the Chiwan area, plan for the joint construction of a marine data center, and work together to build a high-level marine industry ecosystem platform, thereby injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the marine economy.

Prior to the symposium, Wu Sichuan and his delegation toured Tower T4 of Chiwan Hub Plaza, gaining detailed insights into the overall layout of the office complex, surrounding amenities, and its core competitive advantages.

Representatives from relevant departments and units of China Merchants Industry and China Nanshan participated in the meeting.
